We live in a third-world country where the majority of the population lives below their means but what’s the reason behind it? Why we are a third-world country and why we are not making any progress? The reason is lack of education, but how education can help us eradicate poverty?
Education not only helps an individual to make a living but the fact that it also helps them to give back to society, to become responsible natives of their country, and ultimately helps to eradicate poverty.
Education and Inequality
Getting basic education gives you intellect and a sense of equality. It helps you to understand that every human has the right to live their life in their own way irrespective of their gender. In our country, women’s empowerment and education are not considered much important but we deny the fact that in all the first world countries women are side by side with men. Thus, educating women gives them equality which further reduces poverty.
Climate Changes and Education
Climate changes cause a major effect on whether and these effects are brutal for the crops and fields of farmers. Every year due to heat waves and floods many crops are destroyed and many farmers get financially affected by this. If we could provide Ample knowledge to the villagers and farmers to deal with these situations with critical thinking and using advanced tools and fertilizers we can help them to overcome poverty.
Education and opportunities
Getting primary or secondary education helps you to develop hard and soft skills. These skills increase your worth in the market and help you to land a job. If we were able to provide enough education to everyone so that they could at least earn enough to meet their ends then we could have reduced poverty.
Initiatives of Educational Institutes
In conclusion, education is the key to overcoming poverty and in Pakistan, many institutions are taking initiatives to educate the young generation. Many universities such as the University of Central Punjab, University of Lahore, and University of Management Sciences provide merit base scholarships to brights students and help them to grow. But these merit base scholarships are more likely to be unequal or injustice to those students who have low or average grades.
University of South Asia
Among all the universities in our country, the University of South Asia not only gives merit base scholarships but also gives work base scholarships to willing students irrespective of their previous grades. This whip hand helps the students to gather professional experience and knowledge that helps them to compete in the market and stand out among those students which have good grades and degrees but don’t have any experience with the job.
