Skill-based programs are the need of time. Everyone wants to be called skilled not only in personal but also in professional life. If you are a skilled person you will be more considerable. Isn’t it good?
In my opinion, institutes should offer such programs to develop personal and professional skills in students which will help them to analyze their abilities and interest.
In past, there is no such universities that offer programs like that.
According to my research mainly universities should adopt this method because university life leads to professional life and in professional life one should be prepared and sustained. These programs primarily cover the practical side of a course over a short period.
Many universities are offering such programs to nourish their student’s skills and make them capable to do something productive and expanding their intellectual level. Some universities are discussed here:
University of South Asia Lahore
The University of South Asia is a well-known university in Lahore. Recently they are offering their students 4 power courses. They started a program in which they teach their first-semester students those four courses which will help them in growing their professional life
They offer courses like digital marketing, content creation, web development, and creative design suite. They analyze the demand of time and offer courses that are in demand and help in marketing.
On the other hand, they also provide an academic environment for their students and focus on co-curricular activities. Like sports galas, debating competitions, art competitions, etc. These types of programs help a student find their interest.
Greenwich Sindh University
This university is established under an act by the Sindh government. The purpose of this act is to make students capable of something extra and worth it. his university is well known for its academic excellence. They provide learning skills that are beyond the classroom but provide life-long opportunities.
They are providing a wide range of skills like Voice-Over, Makeup Artistry, IELTS Learning, Fitness at Home, and Interior Designing. Also, courses like Creative Advertising, Social Media Marketing, Self-Marketing, and Negotiation skills. This university measures the ability and interest of students and guides them accordingly.
Virtual university
Virtual university in Pakistan is among the universities that provide these programs. They are offering courses in many disciplines such as Computer Science, General Science, Humanities, Management, and Mathematics.
Their purpose is to retain many professions in new areas which are emerging nowadays.

National skill university Islamabad:
In Islamabad, the national skill university is offering many programs which include hard skills and soft skills. They provide 6-month programs and give certificates.
It includes programs like the program of Microsoft office 365, digital marketing, personal programming certificate and Certificate of Automotive Technician, etc.
